"Before, we focused on competition, but we have not really explored collaborations. Thus, we are focusing on community assistance programs, and we want the young generation to also care about assistance programs," he said.
He made the statement at the ASEAN Future Generation Business Forum here on Saturday.
The forum is a side event of the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (ABIS), which will be held by the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) on September 3 and 4, 2023, in Jakarta.
After the COVID-19 pandemic, which was a tough period in all aspects, the world is currently encouraging economic revival that can open more opportunities for job creation, Uno noted.
The young generation needs to become more involved to attract greater sustainable investment, especially in the tourism and creative economy, he added.
He further said that Indonesia has a number of programs that are open for collaboration and cooperation for future business leaders regarding tourism villages, creative economy, and digital entrepreneurship, among others.
"If we cooperate and put these extraordinary ideas into action, we can create the future generation businesses that will not only drive the economy higher, but also much more," he remarked.
Saturday's forum involved speakers from ASEAN countries and ASEAN partner countries, such as members of leading business communities, influential icons, politicians, scientists, and sociopreneurs.
It was an interactive discussion and knowledge-sharing forum, which aimed to build a strong young ASEAN generation, and ensure a brighter future for them.
