Tangerang, Banten (ANTARA) - The Special Immigration Checkpoint (TPI) of the Class I Immigration Office at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, has started welcoming golden visa holders who are planning to stay in Indonesia.

Head of the Soekarno-Hatta Immigration Office Muhammad Tito Andrianto said on Friday that with the enactment of the policy, his party has prepared a number of special facilities for foreigners holding golden visas who enter Indonesia through Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

"It is estimated that many golden visa holders will enter Indonesia through Soekarno-Hatta Immigration, considering that Jakarta is the largest economic and investment epicenter in Indonesia. Currently, we have prepared a special queue to support their mobility," he informed.

The service for applying for a golden visa, which was approved by the Minister of Law and Human Rights on August 30, 2023, is now officially open. The visa classification is intended for foreigners who invest a certain amount in Indonesia, Andrianto said.

He informed that private foreign citizens seeking to obtain the special visa need to meet several criteria. One of them is an investment requirement of Rp38 billion or US$2.5 million for a 5-year stay.

"For a 10-year stay, the required investment value is Rp76 billion or US$5 million," he added.

Meanwhile, corporate investors who set up companies in Indonesia with an investment value of Rp380 billion or US$25 million will receive a golden visa with a 5-year stay for their directors and commissioners and Rp760 billion or US$50 million for a 10-year golden visa, Andrianto disclosed.

"Once they arrive in Indonesia, golden visa holders no longer need to apply for a limited stay permit (ITAS) at the immigration office," he explained.

Previously, Indonesian immigration regulations did not cover visas with stay permits for a period of 10 years.

Andrianto said that golden visa holders are expected to enjoy a number of exclusive benefits, including a longer stay, ease of entry and exit to and from Indonesia, and efficiency since they will no longer need to apply for an ITAS at the immigration office.
