Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Communication and Information is seeking to assist television and radio players in the national broadcasting industry to access licensing service through the newly rebranded e-Penyiaran (electronic broadcasting) digital service.

Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi on Tuesday expressed hope that with the rebranding of e-Penyiaran, the investment climate in the broadcasting industry will become more positive.

“Through the rebranding of e-Penyiaran, I hope public services from the Ministry of Communication and Information will be more effective, efficient, and transparent,” he added.

To support optimal digital public services, e-Penyiaran has adopted two International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards — ISO 27001:2022 and ISO 9001:2015.

The ISO 27001:2022 certification indicates that the application meets the Information Management Security System standard.

Meanwhile, the ISO 9001:2015 certification guarantees that e-Penyiaran meets radio and television broadcasting service quality management standards.

Setiadi explained that several innovations have been brought to the application to make it easier for broadcasting industry players to monitor the licensing application process, report broadcasting issues, and manage licensing payment more transparently.

The ministry also assured that the licensing process will not take long, and could even be completed in one day through the same-day service.

“By utilizing the advances in digital technology, let us continue to innovate and create big leaps that can improve public services for an Indonesia that is connected, more digital, more advanced," he said.

The ministry’s Director General of Post and Informatics, Wayan Toni Supriyanto, said that e-Penyiaran is expected to serve as a one-stop service and is expected to boost efficiency for broadcasting players.

He added that the service would be beneficial, especially for broadcasting players who were previously limited by time and distance; thus, now, the licensing process would be more effective for them.
