Jakarta (ANTARA) - World leaders must actively engage in efforts to resolve problems occurring on the global scale, such as uncertainty in the field of geopolitics, interest rates, and trade agreements between countries, Indonesia's Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said.

"World leaders must be active in discussion forums, including in addressing climate change. Starting from high-level forums, such as the COP (Conference of the Parties), to various other discussions regarding how we can build each others' capacity and share knowledge and resources to withstand the impacts of climate change," she said.

She delivered the remarks at the 2023 Forbes Global CEO Conference in Singapore on September 11–12.

At the conference, she also spoke about the Indonesian economy, which has shown resilience in the midst of crises.

That has been reflected in Indonesia's consistent growth of above five percent in the last seven quarters.

The State Treasurer also highlighted other things that are in the spotlight in Indonesia, that is, the demographic bonus and artificial intelligence (AI).

The minister said that although they both have potential, it will need to be handled carefully so that it can benefit Indonesia.

Indrawati attended the G20 Summit in India on September 9 and 10, 2023. She also accompanied President Joko Widodo during the second session of the summit, which was themed "One Family."

At the second session, President Widodo expressed the hope that the world would become one big family that builds each other up and has a common goal of creating a peaceful life.

A number of things can be done to achieve this, including building global stability by stopping war, maintaining solidarity between countries, and upholding equality through justice in global reform and transparency, among other measures.

Widodo said that Indonesia has continued to encourage ASEAN to become an anchor for regional stability in the Indo-Pacific and make it a safe house for the world.

After the event in India, Indrawati went to Singapore.
