Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said his scheduled meeting with former Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo on Sunday evening would be open for media workers.

The meeting would take place at Jakarta's Merdeka Palace. "Yes, (we will meet) tonight," he told journalists after attending a rice harvest in Subang, West Java, on Sunday.

He did not elaborate what he would discuss with Limpo. Instead, media workers were allowed to cover the meeting, he said.

"That is okay (for media to follow)," he added.

President Jokowi had appointed Head of the National Food Agency (Bapanas) Arief Prasetyo Adi as the acting agriculture minister following Limpo's resignation regarding an alleged corruption case at the ministry.

However, the president has not yet named a figure who will become the new definitive minister of agriculture.

"For now, the ministry has been handled by acting Minister Adi," he disclosed.

Earlier, the head of state had received Limpo's resignation letter following an alleged corruption case that is being investigated by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

KPK investigators announced on September 29 that they had increased the status of the alleged corruption case to the investigation stage.

The anti-graft agency has not yet announced which parties are responsible for the case since the investigation and evidence collection process is still ongoing.

In this regard, the KPK investigators had recently searched Limpo's official residence in Widya Chandra, Jakarta, on September 28. As a result of the search, they found huge cash and firearms.
