This study is related to innovation and creativity literacy in super-priority tourism destinations
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture held a study on the development of innovation and creativity in three super-priority tourism destinations, namely Labuan Bajo, Mandalika, and Lake Toba.

The ministry's Deputy for Coordination of Mental Revolution, Culture Promotion, and Sports Achievement, Didik Suhardi, stated here on Wednesday that the study sought to create a map of tourism development in order to benefit the local communities.

"This study is related to innovation and creativity literacy in super-priority tourism destinations," he remarked.

According to Suhardi, the highlights of the researchers' studies will be discussed during coordination meetings across ministries and agencies as a follow-up step.

One of the notes spotlighted by the researchers is the need to increase the quality of human resources.

He pressed for greater involvement of human resources in the three super-priority tourism destinations by honing their skills.

"We hope that this study can detail what the recommendations are, so that there are further activities to increase literacy, innovation, and creativity in the three super priority areas," Suhardi remarked.

Suhardi stated that innovation and creativity are important aspects in developing the local communities and tourism destinations.

Innovation is a new idea applied to update a product, process, or service, and creativity involves the use of imagination and cleverness to achieve unique solutions in overcoming problems, he explained.

"Studies in innovation and creativity are needed to explore existing practices in regions throughout Indonesia. The results of this study will be the basis for policy recommendations to advance innovation based on synergy and sustainability in the regions," he stated.

The study was conducted by Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, a Germany-based foundation, in collaboration with Parahyangan University.
