The ministry's head of the communication and public services bureau, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, stated here on Friday that one of the hospitals being constructed in the Nusantara area is the Abdi Waluyo Hospital.
According to Tarmizi, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inaugurated the Abdi Waluyo Hospital groundbreaking in September 2023, with an investment value of Rp2 trillion (US$1=Rp15,734).
She remarked that the Mayapada Hospital was the second hospital for which construction had just begun.
President Jokowi and Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin inaugurated the construction of the Mayapada Hospital on Wednesday (November 1).
Mayapada Hospital will have health service centers, including cardiovascular, oncology, neuroscience, gastro hepatology, orthopedic, uro-nephrology, obstetrics and gynecology, and pediatric centers.
"Mayapada Hospital in Nusantara will become a green hospital to support the acceleration of Nusantara's development," she remarked, adding that 20 percent of the hospital land will be green area.
According to Tarmizi, the Ministry of Health will also build an international vertical hospital in the new capital city.
"The Ministry of Health plans to build a vertical hospital in Nusantara, and we are currently in the process of making the design," she stated.
She noted that the hospital's construction is targeted to be completed next year, so it can provide health services to the local communities.
"The existence of these hospitals aims to facilitate public access to full health services in Nusantara," she remarked.
Tarmizi stated that with hospitals that offer prime services, Indonesians will no longer go overseas to seek treatment, as quality healthcare facilities are also available in the country.
