The logistics production for next year's election has been divided into two phases. The first phase includes the production of ballot boxes, ink, and seals.
Meanwhile, over 50 percent of election logistics are en route to the regions, and most have arrived at the provincial and district/city level KPUs.
"This (first-phase) distribution includes ballot boxes, voting booths, ink, and seals, and (more than) 50 percent of them have reached (regions) throughout Indonesia," he said.
The second phase of logistics production will include ballots and forms. The central KPU is still waiting approval of ballot designs from each political party's regional leaders in the districts/cities.
Asy'ari said that the second phase of logistics production will start after the presidential and vice presidential candidates are officially announced on November 13, 2023.
KPU had previously informed that the printing of ballots for the election would begin on November 15, or two days after the determination of the candidates for the 2024 election.
"We will start printing ballots around mid-November," he said.
On Friday (November 3), KPU confirmed that 9,917 candidates from 18 political parties will vie for seats in the House of Representatives. The 9,917 legislative contestants are distributed across 84 electoral districts.
Earlier, KPU received the registration of three pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates for the 2024 General Elections: Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar, Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD, and Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
