Surabaya (ANTARA) - State-owned ANTARA News Agency has organized a photography exhibit at Bungkul Park, Surabaya, in collaboration with the Presidential Staff Office (KSP), the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, and the Surabaya regional government.

According to the President Director of ANTARA News Agency, Akhmad Munir, the photo exhibit, titled “Continually Growing and Advancing,” is expected to be a medium for disseminating information regarding President Joko Widodo and Vice President Ma’ruf Amin’s 2023 performance report.

“We disseminate the government’s performance—their performance so far—to be seen directly by the public,” he said in his opening remarks on Wednesday.

The exhibit is being held in an open space at the park, and will be open to the public from November 29 to December 8, 2023.

Munir informed that 86 photos shot by ANTARA photographers are being exhibited at the park, and these photos was curated to reflect the performance of Widodo, Amin, and their government’s ministries.

ANTARA offers a visualization of facts that can be translated into many perspectives; we offer an encouragement for development,” he stated.

The exhibit is expected to become an educational medium and lift East Javanese society’s spirits, especially Surabayans, to continue to work together to build Indonesian civilization.

“This exhibit is to educate and encourage society to jointly build the nation,” he stated.

Meanwhile, KSP’s main expert, Fajar Dwi, said that the event’s title refers to the President and Vice President’s 2023 Performance and Achievement Report.

“The title of the event contains President Widodo and Vice President Amin’s 2023 performance and achievement report,” he added.

Disseminating their performance through many channels like this photos exhibit, is a responsibility of the KSP and other ministries for the people of Indonesia.

Dwi said that the Indonesian people have the right to know about the country’s development from various aspects, such as facilities, culture, and infrastructure.

“The photos come from ANTARA; we added narrations and infographics,” he added.

"We are presenting the report to the public, so it must be pleasantly packed with truth,” he continued.

Meanwhile, Surabaya regional secretary Ikhsan said that choosing Bungkul Park as the location for the exhibit was a correct step as the area is people’s preferred destination for conducting activities and spending their free time.

“Bungkul Park is Surabayans’ gathering place. In the back, there is a culinary center and the tomb of Mbah Bungkul,” he added.

He said that he is ready to coordinate with the Surabaya City Department of Education (Dispendik) to use the “Continually Growing and Advancing” exhibit as a learning tool and an introduction for students to the country’s development programs.

“I will communicate with Dispendik to encourage students to come here because this is interesting,” he added.

Ikhsan said that presenting the performance and achievement report through a photo exhibit inspired the city government to do a similar thing.

“This performance and achievement report can be emulated by the city government for its own performance and achievement report,” he stated.
