At the 'Investment Opportunities in the New Capital and Downstream Industries' forum, Lahadalia highlighted Indonesia's potential as one of the leading investment destinations in Southeast Asia.
"Among ASEAN countries, Indonesia holds the highest foreign direct investment (FDI) in the industrial sector. To date, investment from China has consistently grown for three consecutive years, primarily in the downstream sector," he emphasized.
Lahadalia also emphasized Indonesia's focus on developing Nusantara by attracting more investment.
"We are also prioritizing the development of Nusantara and are open to investment. If anyone is interested in investing there, I will provide all possible assistance," he added.
He further stated that Indonesia's investment needs for infrastructure, property, and renewable energy development in Nusantara are estimated at US$32 billion.
Indonesian Ambassador to China and Mongolia, Djauhari Oratmangun, expressed his strong support for the forum.
He expressed his hope that the forum would effectively showcase Indonesia's wealth and immense potential to other countries, particularly China.
"The relationship between the two countries continues to strengthen; this year, President Joko Widodo has visited China twice," he added.
The ambassador noted that closer communication would lead to closer collaboration between Indonesia and China.
"Through this event, we can explore the potential in Indonesia, particularly in the field of downstream industries and investment in Nusantara," he concluded.
