"Two (Russian) companies visited Nusantara and they were interested in the electric vehicle and tourism sectors," said Agung Wicaksono, OIKN's Deputy for Funding and Investment.
At an event held to showcase opportunities for investment in Nusantara, he said that the Russian companies submitted two letters of intent (LOIs) to OIKN.
He said that other Russian delegates visited the OIKN Office in Jakarta.
"We discussed many things where the Russian delegation was interested in the transportation, tourism, smart city, and so on, but has not yet submitted an LOI," Wicaksono informed.
He further said that some investors from the US have also shown interest in the development of Nusantara.
"The US investors are interested in being the master developers of economic zones outside the Nusantara's Central Government Core Area (KIPP)," he expounded.
Recently, the OIKN, four US tech companies, and one US education institute established cooperation to support Nusantara's development.
The four technology companies that signed the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with OIKN were Cisco, Autodesk, Microsoft, and the Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI).
The MoU signings were carried out as a form of participation from global companies in the development of Nusantara as a smart city.
OIKN will also collaborate with Stanford University's Doerr School of Sustainability for a research and innovation center in the new capital.
The development of Nusantara is planned to be Indonesia-centric and accelerate the national economic transformation.
