"The hospital will consist of 250 beds with the need for 30 general practitioners and 20 specialist doctors," Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin informed via the ministry's communication and public services bureau on Thursday.
The minister said that the vertical hospital is being built with a budget of Rp550 billion, and the 20-story building will be equipped with VVIP, VIP, and standard-class inpatient rooms.
The fourth hospital to be built in the IKN area will also have an isolation room, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Intensive Cardiovascular Care Unit (ICVCU), Isolation ICU, Special Care Unit (SCU), Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), High Care Unit (HCU), and Perinatology.
Sadikin informed that the hospital will serve as an international standard referral center in the IKN area that provides superior services for heart diseases and stroke. It will also have a catheterization laboratory (cath lab) or offer cardiac catheterization services in the Emergency Room, he added.
The facility will be able to treat heart attack patients in the critical period of less than 120 minutes from the time the patient enters the ER door until the patient is declared stable, he said.
The hospital will also have general and executive clinics, general and executive medical check-ups (MCUs), telemedicine, hybrid operating rooms, hemodialysis, and medical rehabilitation for more extensive, effective, and efficient services, he added.
Currently, the IKN Vertical Hospital is the only central government-owned hospital in the region besides private hospitals, namely Hermina Hospital, Abdi Waluyo Hospital, and Mayapada Hospital.
The construction of the IKN Vertical Hospital began on Wednesday (December 20, 2023) after President Joko Widodo pressed a siren at the site.
