Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said on Saturday that the government is striving to complete all stages for the disbursement of the performance bonus fund for election organizing officers by January 2024.

"As of this morning, I have not been able to give the (wanted) answer, but I am trying (to expedite it), so it can be completed by January," he remarked at the 2023 National Consolidation Meeting for the Readiness of the 2024 General Elections in Jakarta.

He made this statement in response to a query from Chairman of the General Elections Commission (KPU) Hasyim Asy'ari regarding the disbursement of performance bonus funds for election organizing officials.

While addressing over 6,000 KPU officers across Indonesia, the president said he had not signed the document on the disbursement of performance bonus funds.

According to the Ministry of State Secretary, Jokowi remarked that the performance bonus fund file is still being processed at the Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan-RB) Ministry.

"I have not signed it. I asked the state secretary minister, and (the document) is still at the Menpan-RB Ministry," he said.

Jokowi noted that the performance bonus issue is a sensitive matter that should be resolved immediately for the smooth running of the 2024 elections.

"Sensitive matters like this should not delay the electoral process," he remarked.
