According to the Presidential Secretariat's statement, the processing of waste to coal was carried out at the Cilacap Refused Derived Fuel (RDF) Integrated Waste Treatment Site (TPST).
President Jokowi and his entourage arrived at the location at 9:45 a.m. local time and continued their activity to review the waste processing starting from the stage of shredding to sieving waste into coal.
Head of the Cilacap Environment Office Sri Murniyati, who accompanied the president, stated that the waste processed at the TPST came from 14 local sub-districts.
"Cilacap consists of 24 sub-districts, and the waste processed at the RDF TPST comes from 14 sub-districts around the site," she remarked.
Murniyati explained that the RDF machine at the waste site has a processing capacity of up to 200 tons of waste.
"However, currently, it has not been maximized, so only 150 tons (of waste) per day had been processed," she stated.

She said as much as 60 tons of coal could be produced per day using the RDF technology. The coal products are used to fuel furnace combustion for the cement factory.
"Thus, the RDF can produce 60 tons of products per day," she remarked.
She noted that construction of the Cilacap RDF TPST was carried out from 2017 to 2018, with a development fund of around Rp84 billion, or around US$5.4 million.
The funding that came from the Public Works and Public Housing Ministry amounted to Rp27 billion for building the infrastructure, Rp44 billion from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Rp10 billion from the Central Java Provincial Government, and Rp3 billion from the Cilacap District Government for land acquisition.
