Currently, our entire team and other related parties are handling the accident of the two trainsJakarta (ANTARA) - State rail company PT KAI stated that there were no casualties of passengers in the collision of the Turangga train and Bandung Raya commuter line train in Cicalengka, Bandung, West Java, Friday morning.
"There were 287 passengers in the Turangga train and 191 passengers in the commuter line train. Some 22 passengers were lightly injured and have been taken to the nearest hospitals for treatment," Executive Vice President of KAI Corporate Secretary Raden Agus Dwinanto Budiadji noted in his statement here on Friday.
In detail, 18 passengers are being treated at the Cicalengka Hospital, two at the Edelweis Hospital, and two at the AMC Hospital.
Budiadji said that KAI is deeply saddened and expressed condolences over the deaths of four railway officers -- a machinist, an assistant machinist, a train attendant, and a security officer -- due to the train collision.
He said KAI highly lauds the services of those who have contributed to the company.

Furthermore, the surviving passengers have been evacuated and immediately taken to the nearest station to continue the journey using the transportation provided by KAI.
"Currently, our entire team and other related parties, such as the Indonesian Military/National Police (TNI/Polri), the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), the Transportation Ministry, and the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT), are handling the accident of the two trains," he remarked.
To handle the journey of other trains that will cross the route, KAI is carrying out route detours and diversions using other transportation.
The Ministry of Transportation's Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) earlier deployed a joint team to immediately evacuate victims and save the railway infrastructure.
On behalf of the government, it called for prayers and support from the public, so that the evacuation could be completed safely.
