He made the statement in response to a question related to measures for promoting Indonesia's popular culture at the third presidential debate organized by the General Election Commission (KPU) in Jakarta on Sunday evening.
"That way, we will have a place in every region for displaying Indonesia's culture," he remarked.
Realizing this vision requires both budget allocation and the understanding that it is an investment for the future, Anies said.
He further elaborated on his plans, emphasizing collaboration with all citizens, particularly young people, to drive his cultural diplomacy initiative.
"We are planning to involve everyone, including diaspora, students, and migrants, in this diplomacy," he pointed out.
After the presidential debate on December 12 and the vice presidential debate on December 22, the KPU held the third debate.
Defense, security, and foreign policy topped the themes of the third debate.
The KPU has determined the three pairs of the presidential and vice presidential candidates, namely the pair Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD.
The KPU has also scheduled the campaign period from November 28, 2023, to February 10, with the voting day on February 14.
