BMKG’s official website stated on Wednesday that some regions, such as Medan, Bengkulu, DKI Jakarta, Pontianak, Palangkaraya, Kupang, Gorontalo, Mamuju, and Manokwari, will experience light-intensity rains.
Meanwhile, Tanjung Pinang, Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Makassar, and Kendari might receive medium-intensity rains.
Some cities, such as Padang, Palembang, Pangkal Pinang, Bandar Lampung, Serang, Surabaya, Banjarmasin, Mataram, and Manado, might experience thunderstorms.
Cloudy weather is forecast to occur in Jambi, Ternate, and Jayapura, whereas thick clouds might shroud Pekanbaru and Samarinda.
Sunny and cloudy weather might only occur in Banda Aceh, Denpasar, and Ambon, whereas Tarakan is the only city that will experience sunny weather, with temperatures ranging between 26 and 33 degrees Celsius.
Head of BMKG Dwikorita Karnawati stated that her side has released the 2024 Climate Outlook, which can be utilized by ministries, institutions, regional governments, and all related parties.
Karnawati remarked that the 2024 Climate Outlook can become a guideline in the planning or construction for related sectors or in any activities that might be impacted by the climate.
She also stated that throughout 2024, climate disruption due to the El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) in the Pacific Ocean is forecast to be at the weak to moderate phases at the start of 2024 and then at a neutral phase until the end of 2024.
