Gusmao arrived at the palace at around 9 a.m. local time, welcomed by troops in traditional attire, cavalry, and marching band of the Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres).
Gusmao was welcomed by President Jokowi in the front yard of the Bogor Presidential Palace.
The welcoming ceremony was then continued with the national anthems of Indonesia and Timor-Leste playing, accompanied by cannon booms.
Gusmao was seen greeting school students attending the ceremony with his arms crossed in front of his chest.
The two leaders then introduced both countries' delegates who were attending the ceremony.
Indonesia's delegates include several ministers, such as Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi, State Secretary Minister Pratikno, Trade Minister Zulkilfi Hasan, State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Minister Erick Thohir, Communication and Informatics Minister Budi Arie Setiadi, and Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono.
After the two introduced the countries' delegates, President Jokowi then invited Prime Minister Gusmao to take a picture and sign the state guest book.
The two leaders then entered the veranda room to chat, followed by tree planting in the palace area.
President Jokowi and Prime Minister Gusmao then held a bilateral meeting with the delegates and held a press statement regarding the results of the agreement reached.
Earlier, Gusmao had visited Indonesia to attend the 43rd ASEAN Summit in Jakarta in September 2023 that was held during Indonesia's ASEAN chairmanship.
During a bilateral meeting with Gusmao in Jakarta in September 2023, President Jokowi had emphasized that Indonesia will always support Timor-Leste's membership in the ASEAN.
Timor-Leste was admitted, in principle, as the 11th member of ASEAN at the organization's summit in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, in 2022.
