The statement was conveyed during a field visit to the PT Bakrie Pipe Industries (BPI) factory in Bekasi, West Java, on Thursday (January 25). Sambuaga stated that export products positively contribute to Indonesia’s economic growth.
The Trade Ministry is constantly boosting the plan to expand Indonesia’s products overseas. Business actors have to be optimistic that their products will thrive in the global market, the vice minister noted in a statement received here in Jakarta on Friday.
Sambuaga remarked that the government has 46 trade representatives around the world. The representatives comprise 19 Indonesia Trade Promotion Centers (ITPC), 24 Trade Attachés, one Trade Consul, one Indonesia Economic and Trade Office (KDEI), and one Ambassador to the World Trade Organization (WTO).
Business actors can contact Indonesia’s trade representatives in charge of promoting Indonesia’s products.
“There are 46 trade representatives around the world. Trade Attachés are placed in capital cities and ITPCs are assigned in trade cities. Indonesia’s trade representatives around the world are ready to facilitate business actors in exporting their products overseas,” Sambuaga stated.
According to data from Indonesia Statistics (BPS), Indonesia has recorded a trade balance surplus for 44 months in a row since May 2020. Indonesia’s trade surplus in December 2023 was US$3.31 billion, which increased as compared to the surplus of US$2.41 billion in the previous month.
