"We are targeting 120 million plots of land to be certified by 2024," the ministry's director general of land and spatial survey and mapping, Virgo Eresta, informed in Majalengka, West Java, on Friday.
In the last few years, his party has legally certified 110 million plots of land under the PTSL program.
In this way, assets in the form of land or lands owned by residents have been made safe, a measure that could help prevent disputes, Eresta explained.
He emphasized that the PTSL program's implementation is being carried out continuously in all regions to help residents obtain legal land asset ownership status.
"We are encouraging people to take part in the PTSL program. It is also the media's job to help spread the information to increase people's involvement," he added.
He said that the community can also help make the PTSL program a success by installing boundary markers.
According to him, this will ease the identification of and data collection on registered land assets, ensuring accurate information is reflected in land documents.
"For now, we are also using aircraft or drones. Moreover, we also expect community participation to carry out the certification quicker," Eresta said.
He added that the implementation of the PTSL program will be carried out for land assets outside Java Island.
Eresta said that the government is guaranteeing a recognized land certificate for the people.
"We hope more people will have their own land certificate. We will do it (the program) sustainably," he added.
