The Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform is working swiftly to devise scenarios for the transfer of civil servants to the new capital city.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) stated that the transfer of civil servants from Jakarta to the new capital city Nusantara offers business opportunities for the local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and community.

"We hope the local community and MSMEs will play a role in providing the needs of civil servants and people who come to the new capital," Expert Staff for Creative Economy at the OIKN I Gede Benny Subawa said here on Saturday (January 27).

He added that the local community and MSMEs can seize opportunities, for example, by starting a laundry or food business.

This is because when civil servants and people move to the new capital, they will seek staple goods stores and others.

The local community in the Nusantara is currently exploring the needs of civil servants and people who will move to the new capital, which is located in East Kalimantan.

For example, there are local people who are learning how to do embroidery and tailoring because the civil servants who will move to the new capital will need those services for their uniforms, he said.

"We are carrying out upskilling for what already exists and exploring," Subawa remarked.

Moreover, he said, the OIKN carried out a dissemination of information event to educate the local community in Nusantara about other benefits of bamboo.

In the creation of scenarios for the transfer, the ministry is also working to determine the number of civil servants who will be transferred to work in the new capital.

This is because the dynamics regarding the transfer of civil servants continue to develop, adapting to the development capacity in Nusantara and the readiness of housing.
