The World Bank has projected that global economic growth will slow down, from earlier three percent in 2022, to only 2.5 percent in 2023 and 2.4 percent in 2024.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati stated that Indonesia's economy and financial system were maintained in a good condition in 2023 and were able to support inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

Indrawati delivered the statement at a press conference of the Financial System Stability Committee (KSSK) in Jakarta on Tuesday.

The statement was made by considering the performance of Indonesia's financial system stability in the fourth quarter of 2023 that was maintained in a good condition amid global economic slowdown and financial market uncertainty.

According to Indrawati, the positive performance was supported by the domestic financial system, which is resilient, as well as coordination and synergy of all components of the KSSK that continue to be bolstered.

The KSSK comprises the Minister of Finance, the Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI), the Head of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK), and the Head of the Board of Commissioners of the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS).

She noted that going forward, the KSSK remains committed to intensifying coordination and synergy in protecting Indonesia's economy.

This is realized by increasing alertness against the risks of global economic slowdown and uncertainty in 2024.

The World Bank has projected that global economic growth will slow down, from earlier three percent in 2022, to only 2.5 percent in 2023 and 2.4 percent in 2024.

In addition to monitoring the global dynamics, Indrawati and other members of the KSSK are staying alert to the conditions and dynamics of the domestic economy.

The KSSK also continues to monitor the impacts that may arise due to global risks that can affect Indonesia's economy and financial system.

"The four of us continue to be committed to strengthening coordination and synergy to increase alertness against the risks of global economic slowdown and continued uncertainty in 2024," she remarked.
