Ibu Kota Nusantara (ANTARA) - Secretary of the Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) Jaka Santos revealed plans to add 20 new Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) outlets at Nusantara Capital City (IKN) by March 2024.

Currently, in the IKN Construction Workers Residential (HPK) area, 20 MSME outlets have been established, and it is bustling with construction workers and IKN office staff members visiting to eat or for some rest.

"Some 20 (MSME) stalls have been opened and are active. We plan to open additional 20 MSME stalls in March," Santos stated in the Nusantara Capital City, Tuesday.

MSME outlets located in the HPK canteen were most visited during break times, as many construction workers or IKN office staffs visit the outlets for lunch.

Santos explained that providing a canteen having several MSME food outlets was one of OIKN's efforts to empower MSMEs in the IKN area.

Developing MSMEs as OIKN Partners is one of OIKN's agendas to encourage business sustainability at IKN.

"(This is) so that people who move here (IKN) can live in a complete city community, meaning that the ecosystem already exists for schools, hospitals, socio-cultural infrastructure, and others," Santos stated.

Dina, one of the sellers at the MSME outlet, admitted that at night, the MSME outlet was still buzzing with workers. Some MSMEs are open from 6 a.m. to midnight local time.

On an average day, Dina can pocket a turnover of Rp3-5 million, depending on whether the canteen is busy.

"The average turnover is Rp5 million. If it is quiet, then the maximum is Rp3 million. It is usually busy at night. Lots of workers hang out here (canteen)," she explained.
