Jakarta (ANTARA) - The work to construct the 12 towers of flats for state apparatus in the new capital city (IKN) Nusantara is above 30-percent complete, the Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Ministry stated.

"The completion rate has reached above 30 percent," Head of PUPR Ministry's Executive Task Force for IKN Infrastructure Development, Danis Sumadilaga, revealed in Jakarta on Friday.

Sumadilaga cited as an example that construction of the Civil Servant Flat Tower 1 is 30.8-percent complete, Civil Servant Flat Tower 4 at 34 percent of completion, and flats for officers of the National Police (Polri) and State Intelligence Agency (BIN) had reached 30 percent of completion.

The official then ensured that construction works of all 12 flat towers had been on track and are expected to be completed during the June-July 2024 period as targeted.

"The works are still consistent with the targeted completion period of June-July. According to the plan, the process of transfer of civil servants to IKN will commence in July," he pointed out.

The Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) has confirmed that the government would start relocating civil servants to Indonesia's future capital city in July this year after the construction of the dedicated flats concluded.

To that end, the government has taken various measures for ensuring the smooth transfer of state apparatus to the new capital city.

The State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN RB) Ministry has been working swiftly to devise scenarios for the transfer of civil servants and security apparatus.

On January 22, PAN RB Minister Abdullah Azwar Anas noted that proper scenarios are crucial to ensure that the government continues to work in a productive manner in spite of the relocation process.

For devising the scenarios, he said, the ministry is coordinating with several institutions to determine the exact number of apparatus to be transferred to IKN Nusantara from each institution and to synchronize the numbers with those of dedicated residences being built in the new capital.
