During RSPPN's inauguration on Monday, the minister reported directly to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) regarding the hospital's complete health services with modern facilities and equipment.
"RSPPN has one thousand inpatient beds, 11 operating rooms, intensive care/ICU, ICCU, NICU, 90 PICU beds, and 55 beds at the emergency room (ER). It is the largest TNI hospital," he informed the president.
Subianto elaborated that the RSPPN health services also covered evaluation of the health of all organs, including radiology services equipped with tools, such as digital subtraction angiography (DSA), 3 Tesla MRI, CT scan, catheterization laboratory, and 360-degree panorama and four-dimensional ultrasound.
The RSPPN also provides integrated services equipped with robotic and laser tools for disabled individuals and people with leg and hand weakness, he stated.
In addition, the hospital has 30 units of dialysis machines for hemodialysis, two units of therapy equipment for blood vessel disorders, generative medicine services, as well as integrated services for chemotherapy and cancer surgery, Subianto stated.
The 28-story hospital occupies an area of 2.2 hectares, with a building area of 62 thousand square meters.
The minister is upbeat that the RSPPN would fulfill the need as a referral hospital for the Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI) soldiers and their families and also benefit the wider community.
At the inauguration event, Subianto, along with several ministers, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, and three TNI chiefs of staff, also accompanied President Jokowi to directly review health service facilities at the RSPPN, including the radiology room.
Jokowi, Subianto, and their entourage also witnessed a demonstration of the use of a robotic arm in the operating room.
The entourage comprised Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, and TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto.
"Earlier, I visited several rooms with modern equipment, for example, the highest spec MRI Tesla 3, which can detect from any angle," the president explained.
He also expressed hope that the RSPPN would not only become a referral hospital for general health services but also serve as a disaster response hospital, especially for handling the threat of pandemics and function as a teaching hospital for medical graduates and specialist doctors.
