"This is also in line with the instructions of the RI President regarding the acceleration of the implementation of IKD or digital KTP that is currently being developed by Kemendagri," Director General of Population and Civil Registration Teguh Setyabudi said on Wednesday.
Setyabudi made the statement at the National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) held in Batam, Riau Island.
The implementation was in line with Presidential Decree Number 95 of 2018 concerning Electronic-Based Government Systems (SPBE), Presidential Decree Number 132 of 2022 concerning SPBE Architecture, and Presidential Decree Number 82 of 2022. 2023 concerning Acceleration of Digital Transformation and Integration of National Digital Services.
He remarked that in the first stage, the IKD implemented should be able to serve nine priority SPBE services, including integrated services in the fields of population administration, education, health services, and social assistance services.
"Then state financial transactions, government administration, public service portal services, One Data Indonesia services, and integrated police services," he added.
Indonesia will enter a new era of integrated public services through Single Sign-On (SSO) that is efficient, effective, and based on community needs in one integrated national portal, Setyabudi said.
"For this reason, the Directorate General of Dukcapil of Kemendagri along with Peruri will strengthen the IKD feature that is integrated with the national portal and the SPBE priority service application as SSO," he remarked.
On the same occasion, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian said that Rakornas was a means of monitoring and evaluating the performance of Dukcapil as well as being a forum for coordination and consolidation of the government, especially the Dukcapil ranks throughout Indonesia.
"Dukcapil is the only implementing element of the Ministry of Home Affairs that has the most complete population data as compared to any agency in Indonesia," the minister stated.
Moreover, he said, population data recorded by Dukcapil has a vital role in being used by various government agencies in implementing their programs and activities, such as data for elections, social assistance for poverty alleviation, taxation, and banking.
The minister underscored the need to strengthen information technology infrastructure to ensure the security of IKD in accordance with international best practices.
"Hence, this digital KTP will become the main database used by the public to access all public services in Indonesia. We are targeting this to start running in June 2024," the minister stated.
