"These residences are designed with the green building concept. They are all equipped with complete facilities and furniture for the comfort of the state apparatus," the ministry's Director General of Housing, Iwan Suprijanto, stated in Jakarta on Saturday (March 1).
He further noted that the government is also implementing the concept of smart building by equipping the flats with the latest technology in an effort to contribute to a reduction in the effects of greenhouse gases.
Suprijanto then detailed the specifications of the residences, saying that the government has been developing a total of 47 towers of flats in Indonesia's future capital city.
"In total, there will be 47 towers of flats available, consisting of 2,820 flat units. Every state apparatus stationed in IKN will live in a 98-square-meter flat," he stated.

He elaborated that each tower will have 12 floors, with the first and second floors designated for social and public facilities, such as shared rooms, stores, gyms, and public space.
Meanwhile, the rest of the floors will be dedicated to residential purposes, he pointed out.
The director general revealed that each tower will also be equipped with emergency staircases and elevators, solar panels, as well as smart home systems.
"Every residential unit will have family rooms, working desks, balconies, dining rooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, main bedrooms, two children's bedrooms, and two bathrooms," he added.
He also noted that residents of the flats would enjoy a set of comprehensive systems that can facilitate measures during emergency situations and control electricity, gas, water, energy, and parking facilities.
