"The first festival that we will participate in this year is the Hong Kong International Film and TV Market or FILMART, scheduled for March 10-14," the ministry's Director of Film, Music, and Media, Ahmad Mahendra, noted in a statement received from his office in Bali on Tuesday.
He remarked that Hong Kong would become the 19th overseas location for an Indonesian film and culture promotional program that has been facilitated by the ministry since last year.
According to Mahendra, Indonesia will take part in the 2024 FILMART by establishing the Indonesia Pavilion and holding networking events, panel discussions, and market screening under the theme of "Discover Indonesia."
"Those activities will involve the participation of 15 production houses and two Indonesian film festival organizers," he pointed out.
The Indonesian delegation will take part in the festival to introduce national films in the hopes of supporting the development of the domestic creative industry, he added.

Mahendra further revealed that the delegation would also participate in the Udine Far East Film Festival in Italy, Cannes Film Festival in France, and Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival in South Korea this year.
At least 50 Indonesian films will feature in the series of international festivals, he added.
"Indonesia's participation in various international festivals serves as a testament to the commitment of the Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Ministry to solidifying Indonesian films' position in the global film scene," he stated.
Meanwhile, Deputy for Festival and Event Organizing at the Indonesian Film Agency (BPI) Vivian Idris expressed belief that Indonesia's active participation in various festivals would help domestic filmmakers make a mark at the global level.
"Bearing that in mind, we highly appreciate the Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Ministry for its unwavering support and commitment to bringing progress to the Indonesian film industry," she remarked.
