Denpasar (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) is striving to continue developing creative economy products, including through the 2024 Indonesian Creation Appreciation (AKI) program.

“This Indonesian Creation Appreciation is a derivative of Proudly Made in Indonesia, which is specifically for Indonesian creative economy products, which will present well-curated products,” Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno said in Denpasar, Bali, on Thursday.

He made the statement during the closing of the 2024 Domestic Product Shopping Business Matching event in Sanur, Denpasar.

He said that the business matching organized by the Ministry of Industry in Bali could also help increase the consumption of Indonesian creative economy products.

"We, at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, especially for creative economy products, appreciate the government's synergy steps led by the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, and today (it) is being held by the Ministry of Industry," he added.

"I hope this can increase the number of our creative economy products consumed, which, in turn, can increase business opportunities and there are wide job opportunities," he added.

Uno said that the added value of Indonesia's creative economy products is targeted to reach Rp1,300 trillion (Rp83.1 million) this year, and the creative economy is expected to create 25 million jobs.

"The biggest ones are still from the culinary, craft, and fashion sectors and now, we see additions from music, film, and the digital economy," he informed.

This year's implementation of the Indonesian Creation Appreciation program will be enriched by innovation and the addition of creative economy sub-sectors, including the games sub-sector.

This year, the program will cover seven creative and creative sub-sectors: culinary, crafts, fashion, applications, music, films, and games.

The government is expecting 10 thousand creative economy actors to register for AKI 2024, out of whom 360 participants from 12 cities/districts across Indonesia will be selected.

The city of Bekasi has been chosen as the initial location for the 2024 AKI implementation, followed by Serang, Singkawang, Magelang, Blitar, Denpasar, Palu, Toba, Ternate, Tanjung Pinang, Labuan Bajo, and Merauke.

The series of activities for free AKI registrations will be held until the end of March and will be open to all Indonesian citizens (WNI) aged 17 and above, who have an ID Card and Tax Identification Number (TIN) and are domiciled in Indonesia.
