Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) has said that it has made arrangements at tourist destinations to make them safe and comfortable for visitors during the upcoming Eid holiday.

"We ensure that there is security, comfort, and safety when visiting tourist villages. Kemenparekraf has issued a circular containing guidelines for organizing comfortable and enjoyable tours," deputy for destination and infrastructure development at the ministry, Hariyanto, informed at a press conference in Jakarta on Monday.

He said that the circular letter has been distributed to a number of parties at the central, regional, and district/city levels, including to industry and business actors, as well as communities involved in tourism activities at destinations spread across several regions.

His party also reported that they will continue to carry out monitoring during the Eid holiday period from April 5–15, 2024.

"We have been monitoring this since March 26 and will intensify it during the holiday period of April 5–15, 2024," he said.

His ministry and stakeholders are also preparing a national tourism system platform, which would provide reports in real time, specifically on destinations that are strongly indicated to be filled with visitors, for instance, in West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, and East Java.

Meanwhile, regarding mitigation in tourist areas, the ministry has issued Regulation Number 10 of 2019 concerning tourism crisis management.

According to the ministry, as many as 5,280 tourist villages have joined the tourist village network (Jadesta) so that they can become people's pick during the Eid holiday.

Jadesta has a profile of tourist villages, including location, activities, and attractions to help tourists select destinations both during Eid al-Fitr and afterward.
