Bogor District, West Java (ANTARA) - The Puncak Pass, connecting several regions in West Java Province, has remained an appealing tourism destination for people, including those joining the Eid homecoming exodus, Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno stated.

"We reviewed the preparedness of Eid exodus routes that are connected to tourism routes. The Puncak Pass in West Java has always been a top-of-mind destination for tourists and homecomers, especially those using motorbikes," he remarked in Bogor, West Java, on Monday (April 8).

He then lauded Bogor District Acting Head Asmawa Tosepu and relevant stakeholders for their collaboration to ready tourism destinations and routes.

"We truly need such a collaboration not only to prepare the tourism destinations but also the traffic routes as well as MSMEs (micro, small, and medium enterprises)," he remarked.

Uno noted that local MSMEs in the Puncak Pass had been participating in training courses that are expected to assist them in enhancing their products to bring economic benefits to a broader population.

"Hopefully, this year's Eid holiday will be better than that of last year and bring about economic benefits to a broader population," he remarked.

The minister also praised the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), National Police (Polri), Public Works and Public Housing Ministry, National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), health offices, and other parties for coordinating with the Bogor district head.

Meanwhile, Tosepu, the regional leader, emphasized that his government was well-prepared to welcome tourists to Bogor District.

"Since this (Puncak Pass) serves as one of the potential places in Bogor District, we had to prepare everything, including physical infrastructure, field personnel, as well as MSMEs, to serve the tourists," he pointed out.

He further underlined that the Bogor District government had taken disaster mitigation measures in tourism destinations to provide the finest services to the tourists.
