Jakarta (ANTARA) - The government is strongly committed to building skilled human resources, including through the establishment of community job training centers (BLKs), Vice President Ma'ruf Amin said.

"Community BLKs are expected to produce independent people in accordance with the needs of the job market and the regions where the Community BLKs are established," he said, according to a statement received from the Ministry of Manpower here on Friday.

He made the statement after the inauguration of 525 Community BLKs and the 2024 Community BLK Independence Festival in Tangerang district, Banten, on Thursday (March 7).

Amin said that the establishment of Community BLKs is an important part of the government's goals to build independence by improving the quality of human resources.

"The key to becoming a developed country is skilled human resources," he underscored.

On the same occasion, Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah said that the government has responded to the need for competence improvement by building Community BLKs.

She emphasized that the establishment of Community BLKs is a solution for people who are hindered by geographical conditions from visiting job training centers located in their provincial capitals.

"Therefore, to bring the services closer, we build Community BLKs that are based on religions and labor unions," she said.

Fauziah said that after constructing Community BLKs, her ministry is encouraging them to become independent institutions.

"What we are encouraging is the independence of all Community BLKs to be able to work together with companies around the Community BLKs as well as the local government," she added.

"Community BLKs' independence can be realized with synergy and collaboration with the government and private sector," she said.
