Anas, who visited Australia with his team in late 2023 to observe their successful GovTech implementation, expressed hope that the collaboration would provide valuable lessons on integrated digitalization and data use.
"We hope we can learn from the integrated digitalization and data policy of Australia's GovTech," he said in a press release.
Anas said that Australia has synergized data with the digital realm to realize inclusive public services and focus on public welfare, such as MyGov and Digital ID. These measures bear similarities with Indonesia's implementation of GovTech in 2024.
"We focus on basic public services, such as education, health, and social, similar to Australia, so the Indonesian government is also working on the Digital ID," Anas added.
The Indonesian government has implemented several measures to expedite the progress of digital governance, including the issuance of presidential regulations on e-government architecture (2018) and digital transformation (2022).
These regulations are expected to strengthen the foundation of digital government transformation policy in Indonesia.
Indonesia is currently focusing on GovTech, which is being carried out by a cross-government agency team with state-owned currency printing company Peruri.
