"Startup and MSME ecosystem development is crucial for achieving the target of Golden Indonesia 2045," said Mohammed Ali Berawi, OIKN Deputy for Green and Digital Transformation, referring to Indonesia's development goals in 2045.
The increase in productive age population needs to be accompanied by the development of employment in the digital and creative sectors, he added.
He said that the OIKN fully supports the ecosystem for startups and MSMEs as part of Nusantara's development.
He assured that local residents are being involved in Nusantara's development so that they become not only spectators, but also development actors.
The OIKN has provided locals with a variety of coaching, digital literacy training, upskilling, and reskilling programs. It recently held a training on "Coding Mom, Coding Difabel, and Solar Mom" to increase digital literacy and knowledge about renewable energy among mothers and people with disabilities.
Berawi explained that the "Nusantara K-Hub" program is a meeting point between the government, academic institutions, and industry, and a center of innovation and startup development.
"The OIKN has signed MOUs (memorandums of understanding) with seven nationally renowned universities and is also in talks with more than 12 international universities and think tanks, and more than 40 global tech industries," he said.
Thus, Nusantara's development will be a great opportunity in leapfrogging in technology for national industry and academicians, he added.
The development of Nusantara puts Indonesia in a more strategic position for world trade, investment, and technological innovation.
The vision of "A Global City for All" is not only about the future residents, but also the environmental conditions that will be restored and maintained.
