Water Resources Expert Staff to the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing, Firdaus Ali, stated on Thursday that Indonesia also invited four heads of international organizations and 168 ministers. Some 50 thousand participants from various countries are expected to attend the forum.
According to Ali, this forum will present 290 sessions or parallel events discussing various crucial themes related to water, namely water security and prosperity; water for humans and nature; disaster risk reduction and mitigation; water governance, cooperation and diplomacy; sustainable water financing, and knowledge and innovation.
This forum will accommodate stakeholders from various sectors to discuss and find solutions related to various global water issues, he remarked.
"The World Water Forum will be a monumental meeting to transform all policies and enthusiasm to jointly face the future by making water a source of life, not a source of disaster," he stated in a press conference.
As a host of the 10th World Water Forum, Indonesia has made various preparations, including a kick-off meeting and a consultation meeting with stakeholders in February 2023, which was attended by 1,400 participants from 58 countries, and a second consultation meeting in October 2023.

Moreover, Indonesia also participates in various international activities on water to promote this forum to the global community, Ali added.
He remarked that some of the events attended were the 2023 UN Water Conference in New York, Stockholm International Water Week, the 18th World Water Congress in Beijing, and the COP28 Dubai climate conference.
The 10th World Water Forum carries the theme of "Water for Shared Prosperity" where water management has become a main issue in various international events and declarations, including sustainable development goals (SDGs).
One of the goals in the SDGs adopted by the UN in 2015 is to ensure the availability and sustainable management of clean water and sanitation for all people that should be achieved by 2030.
The forum is also expected to generate new solutions and commitments to achieve sustainable and fair water management, Ali stated.
