"We want to ensure... there will be no disruption to the electricity supply," PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo stated while visiting the power plant in Probolinggo, East Java, on Friday evening.
He said he was also striving to ensure sufficient coal, gas, and fuel supplies for Paiton PLTU.
"We have also carried out maintenance well ahead of Eid," he remarked.
Prasodjo explained that Paiton PLTU, with a total capacity of 4.7 gigawatts (GW), contributes to supplying around 60 percent of electricity to East Java and 17 percent to the Java, Madura, and Bali (Jamali) power grids.
"PLN, in this case, represented by PLN Nusantara Power, has digitized its generators, so they become much more efficient and are controlled better," he stated.
Prasodjo remarked that the peak load on the Jamali power grids during Eid holidays is estimated to reach 21,000 megawatts (MW), with a supply capability of 35,000 MW.
"This means that we can be sure that the electricity supply is safe and the power plant is in ready and prime condition as we carried out a maintenance program well in advance," he added.
