"We have (health posts) in the six city or district (administrative) areas in Jakarta," Head of Jakarta PMI's Social Health Service, Sibroh Malisi, stated here on Monday.
Malisi remarked that these posts are scattered across all crowded locations to ensure travelers' health before traveling far.
The health services include checking blood pressure, providing vitamins, and disseminating education related to PMI services to the community.
"These posts are available until seven days after Eid in order to anticipate (travelers' health)," he stated.
He drew attention to several complaints or diseases ranging from fatigue, diarrhea, to hypertension that are often experienced by travelers.
"However, what we are most worried about are when they have comorbidities, such as diabetes and others," he remarked.
To handle these issues, the PMI prioritizes first aid, and in case of serious cases, they will be referred to the hospital.
He also called on travelers to maintain their physical and psychological health to ensure safety during the trip to their hometowns.
"You have to prepare yourselves, both physically and psychologically, because the condition on the road is uncertain. It can be flooded or very hot," he stated.
PMI Jakarta deployed a driver, a doctor, and a nurse at each Eid health post, he added.
He pointed out that the alert health posts are available at Senen Station, Gambir Station, and Tanah Abang Station in Central Jakarta, Lebak Bulus Terminal, Ragunan Zoo, and Setu Babakan in South Jakarta.
Moreover, alert health posts are formed at Untung Jawa, Pari, Pramuka, Tidung, Harapan, and Kelapa Islands in the Seribu Islands District, and Pulo Gebang Terminal and Kampung Rambutan Terminal in East Jakarta.
The Tanjung Priok Port and Terminal, Grogol, and Kalideres Terminals in West Jakarta also have in place alert health posts.
