Jakarta (ANTARA) - The city bus rapid transit TransJakarta's tourism route BW 4, or the "skyscrapers" route, is the tourists' favorite, as it passes by tall buildings in Jakarta.

According to ANTARA's monitoring here on Thursday, hundreds of residents were seen queuing up to board for the TransJakarta tour bus route starting at the IRTI Monas non-corridor stop in Central Jakarta.

Young people, family members, and foreign tourists were seen waiting to board the tour bus on the second day of the Eid holiday.

Starting at 11:18 a.m. local time, this double-decker bus began plying to take tourists to explore the capital.

"Merdeka Palace is the biggest event venue in Jakarta for celebrating Indonesia's Independence anniversary," the tour guide, Ahmad, stated.

Meanwhile, a resident named Tomi, 26, from Jember, East Java, said he was satisfied with the tour bus service that catered to tourists coming from outside Jakarta.

"This facility is good and free. The bus used is different from the general one, and it tours the tourist destinations," he remarked.

The skyscraper-themed BW 4 route operates until night to showcase Jakarta's beautiful nighttime skyline.

The route operating hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time during the Eid holiday.

TransJakarta tour buses or the Jakarta Explorer buses have four different routes or themes, namely tour BW 1, 2, 4, and 9.

BW 1, with the theme of historical Jakarta, passes through the Juanda Street-Istiqlal Mosque-Museum Bank Indonesia-Kali Besar Barat.

The BW 2 route, themed New Jakarta, traverses Juanda-Istiqlal Mosque- the National Monument (Monas)-Wisma Nusantara-Plaza Indonesia-Sarinah 2- the National Museum-Pecenongan-Juanda-Istiqlal Mosque.

The BW 4, or Jakarta skyscraper, passes through IRTI Monas-Sarinah 1-Wisma Nusantara-Bumi Putera-Karet 1-Bendungan Hilir 1-Gelora Bung Karno 1-Bundaran Senayan 1-FX Sudirman-Gelora Bung Karno 2-Bendungan Hilir 2-Karet 2-Menara Astra-Dukuh Atas 2-Tosari-Plaza Indonesia-Sarinah 2-the National Museum-Monas 2-Monas 3-Monas.

BW 9 passes through Kota Tua (Old City)-Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK)-Kali Besar Barat 1-Buddhist Tzu Chi Center-Gold Coast-Food Street-PIK 2 Pantjoran-Melody Golf-Pantai Maju-Melody Golf 2-Food Street-The Piano-Fresh Market PIK-PIK Avenue.
