"KCIC has taken an anticipatory measure to deal with such an increase by adding 12 trips per day until April 18, 2024," KCIC's Corporate Secretary, Eva Chairunisa, stated in Jakarta on Friday.
She attributed the increased number to the spike in passengers using the train from Halim Station in Jakarta to Padalarang and Tegalluar stations in Bandung, West Java.
"After performing Eid prayer, plenty of people straight away used Whoosh to gather with their families or visit tourism destinations," she pointed out.
The occupancy rate of the fast train on Thursday (April 11) for trips from Jakarta on three preferred departure hours of 7:55 a.m., 8:20 a.m., and 12 p.m. local time, stood at 80-95 percent, she added.
Chairunnisa further remarked that 85 percent of the tickets offered for the preferred hours on Friday have been sold.

She then appealed to train passengers to always comply with rules regarding luggage to ensure that everyone has a comfortable trip on the train.
According to rules, each passenger is only allowed to bring three pieces of luggage, with a maximum dimension of 100 cm x 30 cm x 40 cm and a maximum total weight of 20 kilograms.
The three pieces of luggage may comprise two suitcases or boxes and one backpack or handbag.
Furthermore, passengers are not allowed to bring animals, narcotics, guns, blades, flammable and strong smelling items, as well as other goods prohibited by officers and laws.
Chairunnisa also advised that passengers arrive at a Whoosh station at least 30 minutes prior to their scheduled departures since the boarding gates will be closed five minutes ahead of departures.
Those planning to travel by the high-speed train can order a ticket via Whoosh app or official website ticket.kcic.co.id.. Cancellation and reschedule features are available on both channels.
