Chief of Bali Basarnas Office I Nyoman Sidakarya said in a statement here on Sunday that his side received about the accident information from ship agent PT Jakarta LLOYD Benoa on Saturday (April 13).
The ship agent said the work accident happened at 11 a.m. local time, where at that time the ship was in the position of seven degrees 10.100 seconds south and 116 degrees 28.500 seconds east.
"We received the report at 5 p.m. local time, the identity was Liang Hongfei who is 40 years old, a Chinese national, who had a serious injury on three fingers of his left hand," he said.
Basarnas Bali reported that the Hongkong-flagged MV Trust Qingdao is a cargo ship with 21 crew members that departed from Port Hedland, Australia, to Tianjin, China.
After receiving the information, the SAR personnel and ship agent carried out coordination and agreed to do the medical evacuation near the Tanjung Benoa waters.
"At 10 p.m. local time, the joint SAR team used the rigid inflatable boat (RIB) 02 Denpasar from Benoa Port to the coordination point. The activity was carried out with the Benoa Base Transceiver Station (BTS) to know the MV Trust Qingdao position," Sidakarya said.
After a half an hour, RIB 02 Denpasar docked at the ship's right hull to receive the crew who needed the medical assistance.
"The SAR team was constrained by the high hull platform and strong sea currents, so the medical evacuation position changed," Sidakarya said.
Finally, a joint team of personnel from SAR, Port Health Office, the Benoa BTS, and the ship agent managed to evacuate Liang Hongfei at 12:10 a.m. local time.
They arrived back at the Benoa Port at 12:40 a.m. local time, and took him to the nearest hospital.
