"The program should be based on updated reliable data to ensure the social protection program runs successfully," Deputy for Population and Employment of the Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency (PPN/Bappenas) Maliki noted in an official statement from the office, Friday.
He elaborated that the report also describes the use of Regsosek to increase the disbursal of social protection assistance to families and children included in the poor group as well as distribution in emergencies.
Moreover, the report recommends the use of Regsosek to provide social security support more effectively by ensuring continual update of data, Maliki stated.
“This is a very significant step to improve our accuracy in planning, budgeting, and service delivery for the most vulnerable members of society. Regsosek is the latest part of a series of progressive social protection reforms in Indonesia," he remarked.

UNICEF Indonesia representative Maniza Zaman stated that results of the report could serve as a blueprint for identifying families included in vulnerable groups.
According to Zaman, the distribution of social services to these groups is considered to be part of the efforts to realize the Golden Indonesia Vision 2045, as families and children are an important state investment.
"Indonesia is one of the few exemplary countries with its ability to take decisions in order to establish a socio-economic registry to improve social protection management and reduce poverty quickly," Zaman noted.
Regsosek data collection has been completed since 2023 using the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS) and data for Targeting the Acceleration of Elimination of Extreme Poverty (P3KE).
Currently, Regsosek data covers almost 271 residents, or 95 percent of Indonesia's total population.
"The Indonesian government continues to strive to align Regsosek with other national data, such as population data, social security data, and education data," she stated.
