In Jakarta on Wednesday, the ministry's Inspector General Faisal Ali Hasyim officiated the deployment of 240 Hajj officers to be stationed at PPIH's Medina Working Region, 84 officers at the Airport Working Region, five officers at the Jeddah Hajj Affairs Office, and 108 medics.
"All officers should carry out their duties in synergy. There will be no success without cohesiveness. We must boost the satisfactory rate of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims," he remarked while chairing the send-off roll call.
In his speech, the inspector general also urged all Hajj officers to abide by applicable regulations while expressing hope that the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage would run better than last year's edition.
"Only by forging friendship bonds, will you achieve the target," he told the officers.
Meanwhile, the ministry's Director of Hajj Guidance Arsad Hidayat reminded the Hajj officers of their role as representatives of the Indonesia nation.
"Bearing that in mind, you must maintain the good reputation of this big nation," he told the officers.
He then emphasized the need to ensure the genuine implementation of this year's Hajj theme of "Elderly-friendly Hajj Pilgrimage."
"You must treat (elderly) pilgrims as if they are your own parents. Please, ensure that they will see the pilgrimage as their finest experience, as they have been waiting for tens of years to take part in it," he stated.
Hidayat also urged all officers to demonstrate hospitality and ensure readiness to mitigate likely issues.
"It is important to immediately respond to all complaints conveyed by pilgrims and take quick measures for addressing all potential problems," he added.
