"There are 25 hotels recommended for delegates by the organizing committee. The security pattern will be the same as the G20 Summit," head of the Bali Police Operations Bureau, Senior Commissioner Soelistijono, said on Saturday.
Besides hotels, police personnel will also secure the Bali International Convention Center (BICC), Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC), Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK), and the Mangrove Forest Park (Tahura), which will also be used for the event.
Further, the Bali Police, assisted by personnel under operational control (BKO) of the National Police Headquarters, the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police, and the East Java Regional Police, will secure tourist attractions or shopping centers visited by the delegates and escort them to the areas.
"We have experience of international activities. We have prepared security personnel for delegates' activity," Soelistijono said.
To manage traffic at tourist attractions visited by delegates, the local police will also be ready to provide an escort.
The security of VIP and VVIP category guests will be looked after by the Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI) and the Presidential Security Forces (Paspampres), he informed.
"We already have a security standard and procedure similar to the G20 event. We will have five clusters and three ring patterns," he said.
To support the implementation of escort and security activities for the 10th World Water Forum, which will take place from May 18–25, 2024, the TNI and the Police will carry out pre-operational training activities, a joint tactical floor game (TFG), and a troop rally.
The anti-terror Densus 88 task force has also started working at several entry points to Bali, such as the Padangbai Port guarded by Karangasem Police and Gilimanuk Port covered by Jembrana Police.
Soelistijono said that thousands of analytical CCTVs have been connected to the Nusa Dua ITDC Command Center and the Bali Police Command Center to accommodate troops' tasks.
