The bus passengers were pupils and teachers of Lingga Kencana Vocational High School from Depok, West Java, on an excursion trip to Subang after their graduation.
"Nine students and one teacher on the bus, as well as a resident, were killed," Subang District's Health Office Head, Maxi, confirmed the number of the casualties here.
Moreover, 27 people suffered major injuries, and 13 people suffered moderate injuries in the bus accident, he said.
The 11 victims killed in the accident were evacuated to Ciereng Regional General Hospital in Subang District, Maxi said.
Meanwhile, those injured were evacuated to Ciereng Regional General Hospital and other healthcare facilities in the district, including Hamori Hospital, Jalancagak and Palasari public health centres.
The local office head noted that the total number of bus accident victims stood at 60 people.
By Sunday morning, the coffins of the 11 victims have been delivered to their families under police escort. While the coffins of the ten victims were transported to Depok, the coffin of one other victim was returned to Subang.
Families of injured victims have also brought their relatives to return home to Depok to continue their treatment there.
Meanwhile, West Java Police's public relations department chief, Senior Commissioner Jules A. Abast, said the bus lost control on a downhill road and overturned before stopping on the opposite side.
Apart from the bus itself, the accident also involved three motorcycles and one minibus.
"The bus rolled to its right -- its left side on top -- then skidded on the road and collided with three motorcycles parked on the road shoulder," he said.
