"The Youth Cultural Camp is designed specifically for young people. This is the place to discuss local wisdom," the ministry's Director General of Culture, Hilman Farid, stated at the 10th World Water Forum press conference here on Tuesday.
Farid remarked that the program offers the concept of camping for young people with the assistance of seniors representing the government.
He said the forum has resulted in several innovations and good initiatives by young people in Bali, such as activities of cleaning up rivers and beaches and maintaining the sustainability of Subak, or Bali's agriculture system.
"They are more than just ideas, it is a movement. Of course, our task as the government is to direct this energy for environmental protection and sustainable development," he stated.
Farid said that the uniformity of communication patterns are the key in implementing Balinese good practices in other regions.
"Good initiatives, when not delivered optimally, end up circulating in specific circles only, which will fail to cross and not form a clear platform," he pointed out.
According to the ministry, KBKM is a cultural work platform for young people aged 18-25 years who are interested to create applications and crafts that can respond to various problems in the promotion of culture through science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and art approaches.
It is an incubator space that accommodates youths' initiatives in creating applications and crafts and brings together ideas that can be tested in the field.
KBKM has inspired youth to make prototypes of wind power plants, bridges, and buildings.
