"Indonesia is ready to work with the United States, Egypt, and Qatar to ensure negotiations continue and realize a permanent ceasefire in Palestine. An immediate, full, and comprehensive ceasefire is essential to revive the peace process,"Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto met with United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Amman, Jordan, on Tuesday (June 11), after the two attended a summit discussing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Palestine.
During the bilateral meeting, they discussed strategies for realizing a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.
"Minister Prabowo stated that Indonesia welcomed the adoption of United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Resolution 2735 proposed by US President Joe Biden with a three-phase proposal for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza," the ministry's Head of the Public Relations Bureau, Brigadier General Edwin Adrian Sumantha, stated on Wednesday.
During the meeting, Prabowo also expressed Indonesia's readiness to cooperate with countries currently seeking mediation between Palestine and Israel, including the US, Egypt, and Qatar.

Blinken then welcomed Indonesia's commitment and emphasized the US commitment to implement the US-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership at the earliest.
"Thank you, Minister Prabowo, thank you for Indonesia's support for the proposal of immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the release of all hostages," Blinken remarked.
Blinken and Prabowo attended a Gaza-related summit in Amman, Jordan, hosted by Jordanian King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sissi, and UN Secretary-General Antonio Gutteres.
The forum invited several heads of state, namely Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, Malaysian Foreign Minister Mohamad Hasan, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, United Arab Emirates Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, and high-ranking officials from countries such as Lebanon, Japan, Rwanda, Mozambique, Cyprus, Germany, the UK, and the European Union.
