Mecca, Saudi Arabia (ANTARA) - Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas evaluated the readiness of all services and facilities for Indonesian pilgrims during the peak of the Hajj procession in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina (Armuzna) on Tuesday.

"We carried out all efforts and checked all facilities. The Mashariq -- Hajj services provider for Indonesia -- had made many changes. Hopefully, this year's Hajj pilgrimage can run smoothly," he remarked on Wednesday.

At Arafah, the minister reviewed most of the facilities accessed by Indonesian pilgrims, starting from tents to toilets and other facilities.

According to the minister, the facilities provided are considered to be good, including toilets, whose numbers have increased as compared to the previous year.

Qoumas also drew attention to the better quality of tents for accommodating pilgrims at Arafat. Special heat-absorbing materials have been used for the roofs and walls, in addition to the provision of electrical plugs and magnetic chargers for charging cellphones.

The minister revealed that this type of tent is only available for 30 thousand people. He expressed hope that for the Hajj pilgrimage next year, all Indonesian pilgrims would be able to avail of such tents.

However, Qoumas ensured that all tents for Indonesian pilgrims this year were suitable for their stay, with a conblock or paving block for a cleaner tent surface.

Apart from checking the condition of tents and toilets in Arafah, the minister also visited the logistics storage tent containing all Indonesian pilgrims' food supplies.

This year, the Religious Affairs Ministry is providing new services for pilgrims during the peak period of the Hajj. Indonesian pilgrims will receive a full meal at Armuzna.

At the Arafah logistics storage area, 1.58 million consumption packages are stored for the pilgrims in the form of ready-to-eat food and for additional consumption.

In order to help pilgrims with medical concerns in Arafah, the ministry had also set up a health tent as well as prepared golf cars to help pilgrims get to the tent.
