He noted that the figure is derived from the provision, slaughter, and cooking processes of sacrificial animals.
"A total of 1.5 million Qurbani animals provided and processed contributes to over Rp200 trillion," he remarked after participating in the distribution of 420 packages of Qurbani meat in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Uno noted that the figure is derived from Qurbani animals donated by five percent of Indonesia's total Muslim population, adding that the Eid al-Adha celebrations could result in an even larger economic contribution if 200 million Indonesian Muslims were to donate for the Qurban ritual.
"If we can encourage more Muslims, who account for around 200 million of our population, we will see even more significant economic impacts. It is necessary to take collaborative actions to achieve this goal," he remarked.

On the occasion of Eid al-Adha, Uno and the Ministry of Tourism donated three cows and two goats for Qurban. The sacrificial animals' meat was then distributed to 420 people, comprising janitors, technicians, security officers, and drivers at the ministry.
Earlier, the minister noted that his side is aiming to ensure that the tourism sector contributes at least Rp202 trillion (US$12.3 billion) to the national gross domestic product (GDP) in 2024.
To that end, he said the ministry is aiming to attract as many as 14.3 million foreign travelers to visit Indonesia this year.
In 2023, the total value of foreign exchange resulting from tourism activities stood at around Rp161 trillion (US$9.8 billion). That year, Indonesia was aiming for 8.5 million foreign tourists and 1.4 billion trips by domestic tourists.
