"The BSI International Expo should not only be an exhibition event but also create real added value for the national economy and open the market for quality halal Indonesian products," he said in Jakarta on Thursday.
He said that the expo would serve as a platform for exploring investment opportunities and international trade cooperation with global halal industry players.
"The expo should also facilitate business meetings that lead to concrete agreements between domestic and international players," Amin added.
He also called for strengthening support for the development of productive sectors that are the flagship of the halal value chain, as well as increasing financing and assistance for businesses.
"BSI's development and financing should be directed toward sharia-compliant businesses and entrepreneurs in leading sectors of the halal value chain, such as agriculture, food, and beverages," he said.
The leading sectors in the halal value chain range from Muslim-friendly tourism, fashion, and cosmetics to umrah and hajj services, he noted.
The BSI International Expo 2024 can be used as momentum to strengthen financing and assistance for micro, small, and medium enterprises in the halal sector, he said.
Amin also encouraged financing for halal business actors to bolster the growth of the halal industry and spur the expansion and inclusion of sharia finance and social funds.
The event can also support efforts to strengthen the sustainable sharia ecosystem and economic infrastructure, he added.
