The president affirmed that all the projects launched today are expected to boost the quality of educational facilities and infrastructure for students and pupils.
Palangka Raya (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on Thursday inaugurated the development, rehabilitation, and renovation projects of 16 educational facilities and infrastructure, with a budget totaling Rp82.4 billion (US$5.1 million) in Central Kalimantan Province.

The launch of the 16 projects took place at the State Institute of Islamic Studies (IAIN) of Palangka Raya, Palangka Raya City.

In his opening speech, Jokowi remarked that the implementation of educational facility and infrastructure construction projects in Central Kalimantan had gone well during the 2020-2023 period.

The president affirmed that all the projects launched today are expected to boost the quality of educational facilities and infrastructure for students and pupils.

"The development, rehabilitation, and renovation of this IAIN and several elementary schools, junior high schools, and Islamic schools are meant to make all facilities and infrastructure more beneficial to our students and pupils," he emphasized.

The president then expressed hope that the implementation of the projects would help the government produce superior human resources.

"In the name of God, I hereby inaugurate the development, rehabilitation, and renovation of educational facilities and infrastructure in Central Kalimantan," he remarked while marking the initiation of the construction projects.

Director of Cipta Karya of the Public Works and Public Housing Ministry, Diana Kusumastuti, remarked that the construction projects launched by the head of state comprise a graduate building of Palangka Raya IAIN, six Islamic schools, and nine schools in several districts.

Meanwhile, the rector of Palangka Raya IAIN Ahmad Dakhoir extended his gratitude to Jokowi for personally inaugurating the projects of educational facilities and infrastructure.

He expressed hope that the graduate building of the IAIN would enable the institution to accommodate a higher number of graduate students.
